Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Michael Guest (MS-03) voted against the measure that would override President Trump's veto of the congressional resolution terminating the President's national emergency declaration on the southwest border. This vote comes one month after Congressman Guest voted against H.J. Resolution 46, which passed the House and Senate and was vetoed by the President.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Michael Guest's (MS-03) bill – the Terrorist and Foreign Fighter Travel Exercise Act of 2019 – passed the Committee on Homeland Security.

During the Committee on Homeland Security's markup of his bill, Congressman Guest expressed his appreciation for the committee's bipartisan support of H.R.1590. "I want to thank the members of this committee for supporting this bill, and I believe that this bill will help make America safer."

Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, Congressman Michael Guest (MS-03) introduced H.R. 1590, the Terrorist and Foreign Fighter Travel Exercise Act of 2019, which is a bill that would promote the identification and determent of terrorist travel. H.R. 1590 enhances the United States government's ability to respond to terrorism by instructing the Secretary of Homeland Security to develop and conduct a preparedness exercise related to the detection and prevention of terrorist and foreign fighter travel.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Guest voted against the Democrat authored H.R. 8 that would limit the ability for law-abiding citizens to purchase and possess firearms for self-defense.

Washington, D.C. – Tonight, Congressman Michael Guest (MS-03) voted against H.J. Res. 46, the resolution that would terminate the National Emergency declared by President Trump on January 15, 2019. United States Presidents were given the authority to declare a national emergency in the 1976 National Emergencies Act (NEA). Since its inception, 58 national emergencies have been declared under the NEA, and 31 of those are still in effect today.
