Mississippi’s Third District Congressman Michael Guest hosted a roundtable at the Mississippi National Guard’s 186th Air Refueling Wing at Key Field Air National Guard Base in Meridian, on Monday.
The roundtable featured an update and discussion on efforts to bring the KC-46 and a new refueling mission to the 186th Air Refueling Wing in Meridian. Federal officials are considering where the new KC-46s will be housed.
Local leaders from various facets of the broader Meridian and Lauderdale County community attended the event.

The Free Clinic of Meridian will be able to see more patients and offer more enhanced care after an expansion to its building now underway is completed.
Located at 4707 Poplar Springs Drive, The Free Clinic of Meridian currently serves more than 1,250 uninsured adults in east Mississippi and west Alabama. The operation of the clinic is totally supported by private grants and individual donations.

Pressure continues to mount on Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R) to launch an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden’s “culture of corruption” related to the Democrat’s involvement in his son Hunter’s alleged foreign business dealings.
McCarthy told Fox host Maria Bartiromo on Sunday that since Republicans took the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, they “found out what President Biden told us when he was running for office is not true.”
KEY FIELD AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Miss. -- The 186th Air Refueling Wing (ARW) hosted staff members of the Mississippi Congressional Delegation (CODEL) and the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) at the base, Aug. 24.
The CODEL and SASC staff heard briefs from 186th ARW Commander Col. Cindy Smith and Naval Air Station Meridian Commanding Officer Capt. Luke Davis who each gave overviews of operations at their respective bases and talked about how the military benefits the local community.
