Washington, D.C. – On Wednesday, the Committee on Homeland Security passed H.R. 9459, the “Producing Advanced Technologies for Homeland Security Act” or “PATHS Act,” by a unanimous vote. The bill was introduced by Congressman Michael Guest (R-Miss) and Congressman Glenn Ivey (D- Md). Under the legislation, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) would be granted authority to enter into other transaction agreements, or OTAs.

The resolution expresses that the House of Representatives “calls on the people of the United States to observe Memorial Day as a special day of remembrance to honor the men and women of the United States who died in the pursuit of freedom and peace.”

Brandon, Mississippi: Congressman Michael Guest (R-Miss) is proud to announce the winner of the 2024 Congressional Art Competition: Theo Cooper. Theo Cooper is from Jackson, Mississippi, and is a high school senior at Mississippi School of the Arts. His project, entitled Blue Sky Barn, won the 2024 Congressional Art Competition. Congressman Guest is looking forward to seeing Theo’s artwork in the Capitol building in Washington, D.C.
