Washington, D.C. – Congressman Michael Guest (MS-03) joined a group of Republican lawmakers in calling for the restriction of social media sites linked to the Chinese Communist Party from accessing United States markets. The letter specifically cites TikTok and its parent company, ByteDance, as threats to U.S. national security and expresses concerns about the apps' use in stealing personal and private data from Americans.

Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, new legislation to make small, rural hospitals eligible for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives. The bipartisan legislation, entitled the PPP Access for Rural Hospitals Act, was introduced by Congressman Michael Guest (R-MS) and Congresswoman Terri Sewell (D-AL). This legislation would allow smaller hospitals that are part of a larger health system to waive affiliation requirements to be eligible for the PPP.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Michael Guest (MS-03) announced that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has awarded $262,934 to the Franklin County Memorial Hospital to help treat and monitor patients during the COVID-19 outbreak. The funds were announced as a part of the FCC Wireline Competition Bureau's COVID-19 Telehealth Program. The program was established through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which Congressman Guest supported.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Michael Guest (MS-03) returned to Washington, D.C., to vote in favor of the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act. The legislation passed the Senate unanimously and passed the House of Representatives 388-5.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Michael Guest (MS-03) announced that his office will participate in the Congressional Art Competition for the second consecutive year. High school students in Mississippi's Third Congressional District are invited to submit their artwork for the competition, through which one piece of artwork is selected as the winner and will be displayed in the United States Capitol for one year.
