Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, July 24, Congressman Michael Guest (MS-03) introduced H.R. 3990, the Operation Stonegarden Authorization Act. This legislation would reauthorize the Operation Stonegarden grant program within the Department of Homeland Security. This program provides grant funding to local law enforcement agencies involved in U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) operations and can be used for equipment or personnel needs or other appropriate activities to support the CBP mission. Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Michael Guest (MS-03) announced a $95,403 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) awarded to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for the study of "preventative drug delivery carriers against infectious agents detrimental to the honey bee."

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Michael Guest (MS-03) announced a $199,992 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) awarded to Mississippi State University and its Southern Rural Development Center. This funding will support the study of land loss in families across Mississippi and the region. The goal of the project, which is entitled "Southern Region Heir's Property Collaborative," is to develop a plan to address land loss in the South.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Michael Guest (MS-03) voted against H.R. 2500, the House of Representatives' version of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2020, which passed the House on a 220-197 vote. The United States Senate passed its own version of the NDAA, which differed significantly from the House bill, on a vote of 86-8. The Democrat Majority's House version has been criticized for reducing funding to military personnel, cutting programs meant to deter Chinese and Russian meddling in U.S.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Guest voted in favor of H.R. 3401 – Emergency Supplemental Appropriations for Humanitarian Assistance and Security at the Southern Border Act of 2019, the bi-partisan bill to mitigate the humanitarian crisis and provide much needed support for law enforcement agents on our southwest border.
