Washington, D.C. – On Wednesday, the Committee on Homeland Security passed H.R. 9459, the “Producing Advanced Technologies for Homeland Security Act” or “PATHS Act,” by a unanimous vote. The bill was introduced by Congressman Michael Guest (R-Miss) and Congressman Glenn Ivey (D- Md). Under the legislation, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) would be granted authority to enter into other transaction agreements, or OTAs.

Jones College was honored to recently host both congressional staff and State Legislators in an educational tour of its main campus in Ellisville, Mississippi. Speakers provided an overview of the college’s community impact and showcased the progress being made in its new Napier School of Design & Building Arts, its Agriculture Programs, and the ongoing expansion of the Nursing Program.

BRANDON, Miss. (WTVA) – The Mississippi National Guard held a ribbon cutting near Brandon, a city east of Jackson.

The ceremony was held for the new Field Maintenance Shop #9, which will provide daily maintenance support services, ensuring equipment readiness for Mississippi National Guard mobilization efforts, natural disaster response, and relief missions reaching far into the future.

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Thursday marked a celebration as the 186th Air Refueling Wing held a ribbon cutting for the return of the KC-135 flight simulator.

Key Field housed this aircraft simulator for 17 years before it was removed for reorganization in 2005.

The primary function is to instruct aircrew on procedures and techniques on how to safely operate an aircraft.
