Mississippi National Guard opens new maintenance shop

BRANDON, Miss. (WTVA) – The Mississippi National Guard held a ribbon cutting near Brandon, a city east of Jackson.
The ceremony was held for the new Field Maintenance Shop #9, which will provide daily maintenance support services, ensuring equipment readiness for Mississippi National Guard mobilization efforts, natural disaster response, and relief missions reaching far into the future.
The shop cost around $21 million, will provide 35 full-time jobs, and has two vehicle maintenance bays of more than 37,000 square feet, according to the news release.
