MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) -Congressman Michael Guest was in Meridian to show support for the 186th Air Refueling Wing’s effort to upgrade their aircraft from the KC-135 to the KC-46.

Key Field Air National Guard Base has been an important base for the United States Military since it was built. Currently, it is the home base for the 186th Air Refueling Wing.

Rep. Michael Guest gathered with state and local leaders in education, government, military matters and more on Monday at Key Field as he hosted a roundtable discussion about bringing the KC-46 aircraft to the 186th Refueling Wing in Meridian.

Expansion will support 100 new jobs  Raytheon, an RTX business, broke ground Friday on a 17,000-square-foot expansion of its Consolidated Manufacturing Center in Forest. The project is a $50 million corporate investment and will create 100 high-skill jobs over the next five years.

The Free Clinic of Meridian will be able to see more patients and offer more enhanced care after an expansion to its building now underway is completed.

Members of Congress sought Wednesday to calculate the immense financial cost of the border crisis at a hearing held by the House Homeland Security Committee.
