July 17, 2019

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Michael Guest (MS-03) announced a $95,403 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) awarded to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for the study of "preventative drug delivery carriers against infectious agents detrimental to the honey bee."

"Our declining bee numbers are a serious threat to our farmers and our ecosystem. The University of Mississippi Medical Center has provided world-class medical research and innovation for decades, and I believe this grant will help add to that legacy," Guest said.
