Welcome back the KC-135 flight simulator

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Thursday marked a celebration as the 186th Air Refueling Wing held a ribbon cutting for the return of the KC-135 flight simulator.

Key Field housed this aircraft simulator for 17 years before it was removed for reorganization in 2005.

The primary function is to instruct aircrew on procedures and techniques on how to safely operate an aircraft.

“It’s a great day for Meridian. This has been a project that’s a long time coming for over a decade, we have fought to bring the simulator back to Meridian and we were successful that required not only our military leadership but state, federal and local officials all working together to return the simulator back to to Meridian, " said Congressman Michael Guest.
